Hi Lee & Jackie

I was just about shut down the computer when your email came through and as you mentioned driving instruction It struck a chord and I thought I would reply straight away! My Mum Margaret Stacey wrote the Driving Instructors handbook which is known in the business as the instructors bible some say.

Unfortunately though it would be very difficult to start a driving school business here unless you were fluent in Spanish as I am sure the test has to be taken in Spanish even if you are aiming your services to ex pats.
I will put a few links at the foot of this email so you can see what other people have had to say, having said this I have looked on the forum below and searched and on there someone is employing a UK trained instructor so you could email the person who posted on there they are very helpful. Also Brian Dellers site who I refer to on mine is a great minefield of information re driving in Spain.

With regards your wifes profession, when are you thinking of coming!!! seriously a friend of mine has just moved back to the UK and she was flat out, she had the chance of opening a salon when she first came out and wishes she had done that and her husband who was a landscape gardener had stayed at home with the baby as he ended up struggling to make it pay, not because he didn't have any work but because the pay for that sort of work is poor. anyway needless to say I am now looking for a hairdresser as are numerous others! Many of the ex pats donut want to go to Spanish hairdressers because for one they cannot explain properly what they want and also the Spanish tend to have strange colors, by my standards put in their hair, and that would make me very nervous.

Try these websites and forums for more info and then feel free to get back to me with any further questions.

Hi Sharon,

Well after I just picked myself up off the floor ! when I found out that your mum is the one and only Margaret Stacey. I AM IN COMPLETE SHOCK, I used your mums books to get me through my training. I know that her training books are very well respected in the UK, and are used nationwide. im still in shock now.

Thank you for replying to my e-mail I am very grateful to you.

Very Kind regards
Lee Richardson

I will let you know how we get on.

I AM STILL IN SHOCK
