Re: car tax

Hi Sandie

Welcome to the LSFL Forum!

As far as I am aware if your cars are Spanish registered then there is nothing to do! Gran Canaria is part of Spain.

If you have a look here you will find lots of info on importing cars [url]http://livespainforlife.co.uk/default.aspx?id=7

and if you are still unsure then try this website which is dedicated to motoring in Spain
[url]http://www.spainvia.com/

It has all the up to date info on it, you can also write to Brian Deller who wrote the site himself at Round town News, one of the Costa Blancas leading expat newspapers

Good Luck
Kind regards
Sharon

Re: car tax

Hi, I have purchased a car, from new, here in Alicante. I would like to know how to go about renewing the motoring tax when it becomes due. I am registered on the Padron, will I automatically be informed when renewal is due and where do I make a payment for this please?

Re: car tax

You should be informed but you may not recieve the letter and it is your responsiblilty to make sure it is paid so if you go to the local suma office and give them all your details they should be able to tell you, iYou can also set up direct debit to make life easier if you have the letter you can go to a bank and pay it and the will stamp the original letter

Good luck
