My husband and I can recommend a Spanish company called ASSSA (Agrupación Seguros Sanitarios S.A.) They have dental plans from as little as 86€ per year - the cost of two fillings out here! They also have a very flexible range of Health insurance options to suit most people´s circumstances from only 36€ per person per month, with discounts for families with 3 or more members under 50. They also have an excellent Funeral Insurance. We checked them out before taking both our health and funeral insurances with them and found that they offer a couple of valuable guarantees.

1. Your premiums will not increase as you get older - so you always pay the same as when you started the policy.

2. They guarantee to cover you for life. (Some companies have a clause in their ´small print´which allows them to give notice to terminate your contract if you have an expensive year with them - problem being, you may then have developed a pre-existing condition while with them, which no other company will then insure when you want to join elsewhere!)

They have been in business since 1935 (73 years) and are DGS registered in Spain.(That´s the insurance regulatory body over here.)

Lastly, the best thing for us has been their exceptional level of after sales service. They have a network of offices along the costa blanca where you can just drop in with your problems or queries. The staff are multi-lingual and so helpful - they will even telephone the hospitals and clinics for you to make appointments, if speaking the language is a problem.
