Making hay

Hi All,

My name is Andrea aged 34, I and my husband Sean 37, have been talking about moving to Spain for over 2 and a half years now. We have two children Marshall 10 and Emma 3. After many trips to various regions, we visited Albatera in the Costa Blanca and found the house of our dreams just last week. There is something a little surreal about having a mountain behind your house and with views of Salt Lakes and Coast in distance, don't you just love it, I’m sooo excited. It's been a roller coaster of emotions in one way or another and while I want to get off on the whole new life and moving abroad after all the planning, we're so busy trying to organise the house for sale and reshuffling finances that we just can't wait till we're doing the thing we really can't wait for (one way ticket via easy jet). Sean works for the railways and I'm a singer and actress although I don't do much acting nowadays. Sean will be commuting, so the hope is that once we're settled he can join us full time (he's a musician originally). We have found a house in Alabatera and with easy links to Torrevieja and Alacante (as well as Benidorm, about 1 hour); this should be a great place to get gigs hopefully. Sharon has been an absolute star! Our trip which lasted only 6 days was a complete success; we can't believe how far we've come in such a short time. We met others too, who have done the move, and their advice and friendship has helped us immensely, Sharon also has our ID cards sorted and, along with the hospitality of both her and her family and friends during our trip, it's been an amazing experience. She's always just an e-mail away, especially for someone as highly strung as me, very calming, she's been great. .Just hope it all goes according to plan now. We're doing all we can so hopefully it'll all work out. Anyone wanting advice or offering it will be greatly appreciated. I'll keep checking the forum. I assure you I've read all posts and will continue to do so, and I'll update you all whatever happens, good luck to you all in your own experiences, Andrea, Sean, Marsh and Ems.
