I have been watching a programme on tv about ppl who had moved to spain.. there was a few stories on there about ppl that had moved to spain some years ago and owned their own property there..only to discover years later that they didnt own the land that their house was built on and as a result they had to buy the land!! in one case the owner of the land had the house knocked down!!!! I know that when you buy a house in the uk you pay for land resgitary checks..surely the same thing can be done in spain there must be away to find out if you own the land which the house is built on aswell as owning the house.

I have also heard about big property development companies doing the same ..building houses on land which they dont own!!!! Could you not  find out this information from the town hall!!! I dont want to seem harsh but is it a case that some ppl dont do their reasearh or maybe are a bit naive.
