Spanish Winters

What are the Spanish winters like in houses without proper heating and insulation, does it feel colder than it really is?

Re: Spanish Winters

Hi Fletch

At the moment I would say so but the Spanish summers have now spoilt me! I think I am a bit "nesh" now. I do believe that it somehow feels colder than it actually is and I think that is because we have no central heating..........brrrrr! we do have oil filled radiators and hot/cold air con in some rooms, but not all, with a combination of tile floors and the lack of central heating that I was very used to, yes I do think it feels colder. It is still warmer than the UK though especially mid day when the sun is nearly always shining. Having said all that the last winter was the coldest here for I think ... 20 years! hopefully the record will not be beaten this year!

Thanks for posting on the forum, it is fairly new and we are just starting to get underway, so feel free to ask any questions that come to mind.

Thanks again
Sharon

Re: Spanish Winters

Sharon,

Can you tell me what type of heating do people use in apartments during the winter. We are thinking of using our apartment during winter periods but it was so cold the last time we went we were using our warm air heating on the Air Con/ Heating unit which I believe is expensive to use. We obviously do not want to use anything that might be regarded as a fire hazard. Which is the most economical type of heating to use?
